11/6（金）６年外国語科「JTEの先生に日本の文化を教えよう」

外国語科の授業で、「JTEの先生に日本の文化を教えよう」というテーマのもと、
二人一組でポスターを作成し、英語でプレゼンテーションを行いました。

JTEの先生からメッセージ

I was surprised to find that your presentations had improved a lot even since yesterday. I think you practiced after our last class. Your voice was loud enough and I was able to hear your presentations perfectly. You presented about yourself, not only what was written on your textbook. That was great. Your hand gestures were nice, too.

和訳：
昨日より発表が良くなっており、驚きました。授業以外でも練習していたのではないでしょうか？声も大きくて完全に聞こえました。教科書に書いてあることだけでなく、自分の言いたいことを言えていたのが良かったと思います。ジェスチャーもあって分かりやすかったです。

When you make a presentation, it is very important to prepare yourself well by finding good materials to show and by practice. If you are prepared well, you will not get nervous so much during your presentation. What you are doing now is just a practice of English and the audience is your classmates so you do not need to feel nervous at all.

In the future, you may need to make a big presentation in front of hundreds of people. We can’t remember all the sentences. You need to remember what you want to say basically. When you forget what to say during the presentation, you can check your memo which you have prepared before the presentation. Then you will remember what to say. The technique of CHIRAMI is very important. Even our Prime Minister and President of USA are sometimes checking their memos. (You remember what to say by CHIRAMI because you have prepared yourself well.)

和訳：

発表をするときは事前に資料をそろえたり練習をしたり、準備をすることがとても大切だと思います。準備を十分にしていれば、本番で緊張することも減るはずです。学校で今やっている英語での発表はただの練習です。そして発表する相手はクラスメートであり、皆知り合いです。緊張する必要は全くありません。

また、将来いつか数百人の前で長時間の発表をする時が来ると思います。おそらく全ての文章を一字一句覚えることはできないと思います。言いたいことの大筋は覚えておいて、あとはメモを用意しておいて、忘れたらチラ見して思い出すということが重要です。チラ見の技術も重要です。日本の首相も、アメリカの大統領もメモを見ていることがあるでしょう？(チラ見で思い出せるのは、それだけ準備をしてきたからですよ。)

Enjoy it. And let others enjoy your presentation. In my case, I always put some points in my presentation which can make audience laugh. It is a very important skill to make your audience laugh so that you can get their attention. You like to study something fun, right?

和訳：
そして、自分が楽しみ、相手を楽しませることも重要です。私は必ず、聞いてくれている人が笑ってくれるような内容を何点か入れます。笑いを入れることは意識を聞く人の方に向け、内容をしっかりと聞いてもらうためのとても大事な技術です。勉強も楽しいほうが良いじゃない？

I am saying so like a wise man, but this article doesn’t have any point which can make you laugh at all… What should I do?

和訳：
とか偉そうに言いながらも、この文章に一切笑いの要素が入っていないね、さあどうしましょう？
